• LAURA & DANICA’S LIVERPOOL WEDDING

WHAT WAS THE THEME AND INSPIRATION?

Rustic/hippy theme. A lot of pastel colours and flowers. We styled it ourselves with help from our florist.

TELL US ABOUT THE CEREMONY AND RECEPTION LOCATIONS. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THE VENUE AND WHAT DID YOU LIKE ABOUT IT?

For the ceremony it was the 60 Hope St. and the iconic door made it for us! Their floral displays around their front door made it an easy choice.
We had reception at the Siren. It was a small and not a well known location. It was very intimate meaning we could have few guests who we really wanted to share our big day with. We loved the rooftop terrace and the view of the city.

  • Matthew and Sam’s Southwold beach engagement shoot

Today we are going to take you for a seaside walk with Matt and Sam beautifully photographed by Amanda Karen Photography.

TELL US THE STORY OF HOW YOU MET

Sam and I went to school together – with Sam joining my school’s sixth form college. We have been together since that time, and 10 years later we are just about to move in to our first home together (before getting on with the wedding planning)!

  • NATHANIEL AND MATTHEW’S BLACK TIE SUMMER BALL WEDDING

WOULD YOU LIKE TO TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL?

Matt and I went to Peru in 2016 with another couple. During our trip to Machu Picchu Matt proposed on the summer solstice. It was really special as it was the day of our 10th anniversary.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING DAY IN ONE SENTENCE?

The best day of our lives

  • GEMMA AND VICTORIA’S CYCLAMEN PURPLE WINDSOR WEDDING

TELL US THE STORY OF HOW YOU MET

“You’ve Got Mail”, just how Kathleen Kelly and Joe Fox met, we met online. Although with much faster internet speeds and no dial up tones! We met on a gay dating website, chatted for a few weeks before making the decision to meet up. We met up for dinner at a local Caribbean restaurant & the rest was history!

NOW ABOUT THE BIG DAY! WHAT WAS THE THEME AND INSPIRATION? HOW DID THE DAY LOOK LIKE? DID YOU STYLE IT YOURSELF?

Our wedding was very much planned round the main venue, The Guild Hall in Windsor. This has special associations for Vickie’s family as her Great Grandfather was the Mayor of Windsor in 1968 & her sister also got married there.

Once we had the main venue booked everything else fell into place. One of our favourite local pubs to Windsor, The George, was the perfect place to have our Wedding reception. It had a little barn for the reception and a private outside area with a Teepee! On top of being a very convenient location to The Guild Hall, the food is amazing so we knew we would have a fabulous meal.

Our wedding theme was based on our favourite colour, purple and Vickie’s favourite flower, Cyclamens. The table centre pieces, Bridesmaid dresses & table decorations were all based on these. The rest of the décor was based on a rustic feel as the barn is quite rustic.

All of the decorations were either made by us or by family members.

  • BEN AND PAUL’S MODERN GEOMETRIC WEDDING

Today we are joining Ben and Paul and their super stylish wedding photographed and shared with us by Mini & Me Photography.

TELL US THE STORY OF HOW YOU MET

I (Paul) saw Ben on a mutual friends Facebook page, casually mentioned to our friend that I thought Ben was good looking and was he single?.. Then our friend put us in touch and the rest is history.

NOW ABOUT THE BIG DAY! WHAT WAS THE THEME AND INSPIRATION? HOW DID THE DAY LOOK LIKE? DID YOU STYLE IT YOURSELF?

We were keen to have a masculine wedding, something different and modern. We didn’t start with a plan nor theme it developed in time looking at Pinterest and Instagram for inspiration. I (Paul) started buying ‘stuff’ I’d see something that fitted into the 5 colours we’d chosen; Navy, Black, White, Grey and Silver (a lot of colours really) anyway every month I’d add to the collection which then started to take on a geometric theme, which started from our stationary. Somehow it all came together on the day and looked amazing we received so many lovely comments about the details.

  • LIZ AND JO’S COLORFUL ‘SAN JUNIPERO’ LONDON WEDDING

    TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL

We were on holiday in the Philippines and staying in a beautiful island resort. Liz had come to meet me after I had completed my medical elective in a hospital there. During the day, we had been island hopping and Liz seemed a bit ‘off’ and keen to get back to our treehouse after. When we got back she asked me to wait in another room as she had a ‘surprise’ for me – I assumed this would be a gift for completing medical school! When I came out, she had laid out photos of us from when we first met to the present day leading out to the balcony where she made a beautiful speech and popped the question!

NOW ABOUT THE BIG DAY! WHAT WAS THE THEME AND INSPIRATION?

Charlie Brooker’s Black Mirror episode ‘San Junipero’ – and generally we wanted to achieve relaxed house party vibes.

As two women getting married, we also went out of our way to remember and recognise the women that inspire us. This included a photo montage of women who couldn’t make it (from Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin to various dead relatives), table names inspired by our dream dinner party guests (mostly female!) and a friend’s speech which closed with the epic final words of Morgan Lloyd Malcolmʼs Emilia.

    DID YOU STYLE IT YOURSELF?

Yes, with help from talented family and friends.

  • LINDA AND SILVIA’S 50’S INSPIRED ITALIAN WEDDING

DO YOU WANT TO TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL?

I (Silvia) asked Linda to marry me. I organized a treasure hunt in our home in Milan with more or less 10-12 clues Linda had to follow to arrive to the last one.. that was the ring for the proposal. A very simple and always stilish ring: white gold with (small) diamond by Tiffany.

NOW ABOUT THE BIG DAY! WHAT WAS THE THEME AND INSPIRATION?

We just followed our taste, trying to keep everything very simple, but refined. Some bits inspired from italian ’50.

  • SAMI AND KERRIE’S SCOTTISH DIY WEDDING

Today we are enjoying Sami and Kerrie’s wonderful and fun wedding at gorgeous Loch Lomond photographed by Amy Faith.

    PROPOSAL

Kerrie proposed to me on my 31st birthday in the deepest depths of March! She met me from work and off we went in an Uber to a mystery location… I was expecting a nice restaurant in Central London… however, as the car continued on I started to realise that we were heading towards Peckham and soon it became apparent to our favourite local park, Telegraph Hill, which overlooks the London skyline. The taxi stops outside the entrance and we disembark… I am now thinking WHAT ON EARTH, itʼs dark, cold and my birthday… and we are wondering into a park rather late at night… what is going on!??! Kerrie took my hand and as we walked around the corner I saw what looked like hundreds of candles laid out on the ground… as I got closer I could also hear a playlist playing some of our favourite music… I still had no idea what was happening. As we got closer, Kerrie took me into the middle of the candles and I realised what it was… She had built me a ‘house of candlesʼ, for those Greys Anatomy fans out there, you will get the significance, but there I was standing in the foundations of our metaphorical future home marked out by hundreds of candles… (I was still thinking, oh this is cute for my birthday but itʼs March, get me indoors!!). Anyhow, then she held my hands and proposed! I was in such shock!! After all of the commotion calmed down and I had said Yes, I suddenly said to Kerrie, ‘How on earth have you done all this aloneʼ… at that point 5 of our closest friends came running out of the bushes with champagne! It was EPIC!

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING DAY IN ONE SENTENCE?

A wondrous mish mash of the both of us, celebrating our love with our nearest and dearest, in the most incredible location, exactly how we wanted it.

WHAT WAS THE THEME AND INSPIRATION FOR THE WEDDING DAY?

We are both extremely passionate about the outdoors, music, food and wine, so we wanted to intertwine this with Kerrieʼs Scottish heritage, combining all aspects to create an inclusive atmosphere for all.

  • LUCA AND FILIPPO’S PICNIC ENGAGEMENT

    HOW DID YOU MEET?

    We are long time friends

DO YOU WANT TO TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL?

I (Filippo) have had the idea of proposing to Luca for a long time. I wanted to be something special though and I wanted it to be captured in photo so that we could cherish all those memories forever. So I asked Matteo, our photographer, to help me plan the whole shoot, together with some of his trusted vendors.
