MATTHEW AND BRYANT’S GIBRALTAR ELOPEMENT

Even if you can’t have your amazing big wedding, you can still have the time of your life marrying your other half!

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING STYLE IN ONE SENTENCE?

Rustic and burly.

WHAT WAS THE THEME AND INSPIRATION?

We had originally planned a Spanish inspired wedding for July 2020 in San Francisco. Lots of yellows, reds, and blues… with Talavera tiles. However, COVID decided to change our plans. We postponed our wedding and planned an elopement in Gibraltar. Our style is simple.. we love jeans and leather. So we chose a minimal, rustic theme for our elopement.

DID YOU STYLE IT YOURSELF?

Yes – Down to the cow socks!

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THE LOCATION AND WHAT DID YOU LIKE ABOUT IT?

We chose Gibraltar because it did not have any travel bans in place. It was a place that we could both enter and marry. We also chose it because Matthew is British, so we wanted something that felt like home.

FLOWERS, DECORATIONS, DID YOU DO ANY DIY?

We had a bouquet and boutonniere made by Rock Occasions. Bryant was a florist before he became a teacher, so he loves flowers.. he couldn’t get married without a bouquet!

OUTFITS

We really wanted to wear jeans, so we styled our outfit around our blue jeans. We chose a burgundy shirt, leather shoes, and grey/leather suspenders.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER

Sheila Roberts from Sheila Roberts Photography was our photographer. We actually moved up the wedding date by a week, so we called her the day before our wedding and she came down to Gibraltar the next day to be our photographer! She was such a calming presence. The pictures that she took are gorgeous.. they will become precious memories for years to come.

WOULD YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR COUPLES PLANNING THEIR WEDDING?

Enjoy every moment of the planning process and the wedding day. Everything will sort itself out.
