WARREN AND TOM’S HEDSOR HOUSE WEDDING

I know it’s June and sun is shining, but today we will enjoy a beautiful and chic winter Hedsor House wedding, photographed and shared with us by a London wedding photographer MIKI Photography.

YOUR NAMES

Tom and Warren

HOW DID YOU MEET?

We met the old fashion way: on the dancefloor of a club.

NOW ABOUT THE BIG DAY! WHAT WAS THE THEME AND INSPIRATION?

We married in early January because we wanted a winter wonderland inspired wedding. Tom designed the look and the production company set it up on the day. We went with mercury glass candles and ornate table pieces mixed amongst white roses. The lighting team had snowflakes projected onto the ceiling of the main hall.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THE VENUE AND WHAT DID YOU LIKE ABOUT IT?

The venue was the exact style we wanted, conviently located and was small enough to feel intimate and personal, whilst still having the grandeur of a manor house. We held both the ceremony and the reception there which was lovely.

YOUR OUTFITS

We had custom suits designed and made by Souster & Hicks. Tom wore a white suit with detailed silver embroidery and Warren had a classic suit with the lining matching the material of Toms suit. Warrens cuffs were monogrammed with both of our new initials.

FLOWERS & DECORATIONS

We had white roses and blue hydrangeas. Tom and his bridesmaids bouquets had the roses, with Toms including blue thistles in his.

CAKE

We envisioned a cake that made a statement and we had an idea that we could have it as a path leading to a castle like a winter fairy-tale. The cake maker managed to get it so the cake opened up in the middle with a path.

WHAT WAS WAS THE ENTERTAINMENT?

We choose a DJ and gave him the brief of making sure people didn’t stop dancing all night. It was important not to give a set list, although we did dictate that we wanted, nothing too cheesey – no ‘baby shark’ which was popular at the time! Classact orgsnised everything we just had to select the lighting colours and dance floor.

YOUR WEDDING PLANNER

Jenny Knight, our registrar, also acted as something of a planner for us. She was so helpful with making sure things ran to time and getting people where they needed to be. In hindsight she was invaluable. She worked with the suppliers too.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER

Recognised he was talented from his portfolio online as we reviewed quite a few. Ash from MIKI Photos had the dramatic style that we wanted.

WHAT WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT AND MOST FUN PART FOR YOU?

The most important part for us was that our guests had a great time. It was important that they enjoyed the food and the the dancing. It was everything we wanted as we put no limits on it. We approached it the other way and how do we get to the wedding we wanted. It felt truly special.

WOULD YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR COUPLES PLANNING THEIR WEDDING?

Do want you want to do, don’t listen to unsolicited advice and enjoy yourself. Take a honeymoon soon after, you’ll need it.
