ADAM AND ANDREW’S LEEDS WEDDING
Today we have a super chilled city Leeds wedding and a fantastic documentary photography by Tim Dunk.
TELL US THE STORY OF HOW YOU MET
We met at a courtyard party in Leeds. Andrews friend approached Adam to say he liked him but that night we did not talk as Adam was hosting night with friends from Manchester. After this we became friends on Facebook and started to date.
NOW ABOUT THE BIG DAY! WHAT WAS THE THEME AND INSPIRATION?
The wedding day was a mixture of two things one was the city of Leeds and the other was in one of the UK’s largest city parks Roundhay park. We wanted the first venue at the Hilton hotel to reflect how we met and I our love for the city life. Then the second venue we at the Roundhay to reflect both of our background of growing up in the countryside and our love for water such as beaches and lakes.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THE VENUE AND WHAT DID YOU LIKE ABOUT IT?
The venue in the city centre was held at the Hilton Doubletree and they were very accommodating making no request a problem, and the very same could be said for the second venue which was held at the Lakeside café in Roundhaye. We were truly made to feel special by both parties and nothing without bike it was too much trouble. We use a band called the five town who were unbelievable and we had many a guest remarking on how good they were throughout the night.
We chose the venues to give us a nice mix between city life and some thing close to where we both grew out in the country. Venue one allowed us to overlook the city of Leeds from the sky lounge and enjoy cocktails, finger food and good weather. Venue two give us the feeling of being by water, greenery and barbecues which was a must for us. We had also attended a party many years previous at the Roundhaye café and we fell in love with its authenticity of the place and its ability to transform from a trading café during the day to a private function in just a few hours.
YOUR OUTFITS
Both suits were from the French connection brand and the bridesmaids dresses were from JJ house online. Suits were then tailored further to fit more exactly by a local tailor and the bridesmaids dresses were chosen in the same colour theme but all done in individual styles to suit the different personalities of each bridesmaid.
FLOWERS & DECORATIONS
We use Nicky at blooms on Burley road for the flowers together with Bash balloon suppliers and the rest we made ourselves from our own creativity and inspiration taken from Pinterest.
CAKE
Family took care of this. Slight catastrophe.
BAND / DJ – WHAT WAS WAS THE ENTERTAINMENT?
Vibe town entertainment company.
YOUR WEDDING PLANNER
Hilton- Jennifer Lunn
Lakeside- Emma Rogers
TELL US ABOUT YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER
We used Tim dunk as our photographer and was first introduced to him by a client me showing me his work, and we were both truly blown away with his naturalistic approach and unstaged shots.
Tim is such a lovely guy and a pleasure to have at your wedding, Mingling in with guests and you actually feel as though he is a friend from the past. On top of all this his work is absolutely superb as many people even remarked we looked as though it had Vanity fair shoot our wedding.
WHAT WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT AND MOST FUN PART FOR YOU?
The most fun part for us has to be the realisation point when the day has started and you realise there is nothing more you can do to improve or change your day! So then all that is left is to enjoy every minute of your day.
WOULD YOU HAVE ANY PIECE OF ADVICE FOR COUPLES PLANNING THEIR WEDDING?
Our advice would be the same as many other couples I’m sure, the day goes so fast be sure to take a few moments to enjoy and appreciate what you have created.
