BEVERLEY AND CHARLIE’S MANCHESTER ROOFTOP TERRACE WEDDING

Today we have another cool city wedding – this time in Manchester. Beverley and Charlie’s day was photographed by Marcia’s Wedding Photography.

HOW DID YOU MEET?

Well, it’s a great one! We met at our annual Pride Breakfast that happens before Manchester Pride. I am the sister of one of Charlie’s friends, it was a warm sunny day, we spent the weekend together and then I travelled back home. After a number of years talking and becoming friends I travelled to Manchester to surprise Charlie on her birthday and well…the rest is history!

NOW ABOUT THE BIG DAY! WHAT WAS THE THEME AND INSPIRATION?

We wanted something formal, classic but casual. The theme was Pink and Grey with a touch of shabby chic. We decided against a wedding breakfast as we wanted everyone to join us on our big day and have a good time without a sit down meal. Instead we had a Gin Parlor, Beer Barrows and mini munchies for food. Our focus was for our family and friends to share the most magical day of our lives.

LOCATION

We had the ceremony and the reception at the same venue – the stylish Great John Street Hotel in Manchester. We had the roof terrace and surrounding rooms in which to host our special day.

WHAT WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT AND MOST FUN PART FOR YOU?

The most important part was the ceremony. Let’s not forget that it’s only been a few years since same sex couples could marry and have equality in the area of love and commitment. It was very important that this part of the day was given the grace it deserves.

The most fun part was the photo booth!! Who knew that fancy dress and teeny tiny photos with your friends could create so many happy faces.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER

Marcia and Si were amazing from the minute they arrived. Not only did they take pictures of everyone that wanted them, they made us feel so relaxed, they had humour and most importantly they captured the magic of our day in their own special way.

WOULD YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR COUPLES PLANNING THEIR WEDDING?

Share out the jobs! We came up with key things we needed doing and our friends and family were very eager to help and support.

Do it for you and make it personal. Our best Man Adam and Best Woman Deborah gave the most personal and heartfelt speeches as well as helping, supporting with the organization and the day.

Keep your friends and family close. Our Bridesmaids, one of which was my daughter Georgia looked gorgeous and provided us with such love.
