FASHION: Merve Bayindir’s SS21 Bridal & Wedding Millinery Collection

I am excited to share with you the SS21 Merve Bayindir’s collection. The sustainable millinery brand exhibited as part of PFW Virtual Showrooms this season over Paris Fashion Week.

The high-end milliner is an Official Royal Ascot brand and has been featured in publications such as British Vogue, Vogue Paris, Vogue Italia, New York Times, Vogue Arabia, Vogue Portugal, Vogue Turkey and many more. Merve Bayindir is stocked on Net-a-Porter, in Fenwick on Bond street and on her own online store.

Merve Bayindir is a couture millinery brand for the chic and self-confident person. As contemporary innovators, the brand explores the debate between architecture and fashion to develop ground-breaking designs. Founded by mother-daughter duo, Yasemin Bayindir and Merve Bayindir in 2011, the eponymous brand has produced a range of chic and striking collections from occasion wear to bridal to show-stopping pieces.

The SS21 ‘Sunset’ collection addresses that the world is going through a very difficult time and how we all experience things in our own way. It is about enjoying the simplest things in life. For the designer, Merve her biggest joy during this time in lockdown included taking her couch outside and setting up a small cinema in her back garden where she chilled under the changing colours of the sky. The experience reminded the designer of her grandparent’s summer house at Avsa Island and how every night there was a magical sunset between the sun and sky with the company of family and friends and how simple times were back then.

The colours in the collection are based on the sunset hour palette. How a blue sky with a few clouds can turn into so many colours: pink to yellow to peach and red. The simplest daily event that we don’t pay attention to unless we are on vacation. The beauty that we take for granted, the art we don’t take into consideration: nature in its most effortless form.
