STYLED SHOOT: DIVERSITY WORKSHOPS
INSPIRATION AND STORY BEHIND THE SHOOT
I have planned and designed a number of styled shoots and love it, i feel that doing styled shoots gives the opportunity for creative suppliers to show what they can do and for couples to get their creative minds planning, instead of seeing the same old same.
I decided to start offering styled shoot workshops but whilst planning them, i learned that there was a lack of diversity when it comes to shoots and inspiration for alternative/non traditional couples. So my idea was to create a workshop using creative suppliers that would represent the style and then use real couples from diverse backgrounds. I wanted to provide fabulous photos to give inspiration to all couples, regardless of their faith, gender or culture.

STYLED SHOOT: SIMPLE ELEGANCE FOR ALL SEASONS
Today we have a beautiful styled shoot full of timeless elegance planned, styled and shared with us by Lucy Meehan. Enjoy!
INSPIRATION
This elegant shoot concept was born from the turmoil that couples have faced over the last two years. Regulations have caused many couples to have to postpone or rethink their wedding plans and for some couples this has meant adapting their plans for different seasons.
I wanted to create an elegant design that can be easily recreated and one that would work no matter what the season. The most important part of this concept would be developing the colour palette, it needed to be one that would work well at any time of the year and could be easily created using any seasonal flowers. I chose to include blush and ivory (colours that are often used for wedding flowers) but I added accents of caramel and berry. I felt these added a touch of elegance and style to enhance the overall look.

STYLED SHOOT: SUGAR & SPICE
Oh all the colour and sweets! Enjoy this styled shoot shared with us by the stylist of it – Lily Jones.
INSPIRATION AND STORY BEHIND THE SHOOT
Love is Sweet – those were the words that inspired me to create a wedding shoot celebrating how sweet love can be!
Taking the theme of ‘sugar & spice and everything nice,’ I wanted to create a fun, bright and colourful shoot to show couples that their wedding day can be a unique as they are! I am an alternative wedding planner and stylist and no theme or idea is too outrageous for me to bring to life. -
STYLED SHOOT: CHAPEL WEDDING / WHEN TWO WORLDS BECOME ONE
Happy New Year!
Gay Wedding Blog has been on a break for the last few months but it’s back and kicking off the new year with a gorgeous styled shoot. It was shared with us by Marvin Trevisi who planned and styled the shoot. It was photographed by super duo Vivi & Kate.
Enjoy the beautiful pictures and story behind the shoot (with a super happy ending!) from Marvin.Eventhough Germany is a liberal country LGBTQI+ people are facing discrimination from time to time. In social life but also in other areas of life. I grew up in the country side of Germany and being a young gay man life wasn´t always easy because being gay was rare and most people found it not „normal“ back then.
I was always asking myself: What is normal though and who defines being normal? Once moving to Cologne, which is considered the gay capital of Germany I found myself in an environment where life was much more colorful compared to my hometown & being gay wasn´t such of a big deal. With time passing my vision of becoming a wedding planner became clearer and clearer. While building my own brand it was always a goal incorporating diversity into my business model.
My vision was to show the world the most simple thing: LOVE IS LOVE.

STYLED SHOOT: RETRO DISCO INDUSTRIAL WEDDING
INSPIRATION AND STORY BEHIND THE SHOOT
After seeing some awesome floral suits I knew I wanted to style a shoot with this concept, bold, different. This was brought to life with discussions with Sarita White Photography who also has a similar love for creating something out there and J Austin Design’s brilliant floral designs bringing in a real floral cape instead of actual suits. We all wanted something bright, retro made contemporary, mixed with both outdoor and industrial backdrops. So, when we met at the venue, we all knew we needed to showcase something completely new and diverse, so I got my thinking cap and decided a ceremony in the field with mixed vintage boudoir chairs and a retro backdrop would be the starting point.

STYLED SHOOT: SOCIAL CREATURES – A 70s-Inspired Sustainable Autumn Woodland Wedding
Finally, we have alpacas on the blog!!! :) But seriously, so much of this shoot makes my hart sing. Enjoy beautiful photography by Paola De Paola and read what Gwenda of Bohotanical shared about the process and wonderful team involved.
VISION
A richly-toned, sustainable Autumnal wedding concept that embracing the great outside (and an alpaca, or two)
INSPIRATION/STYLING
This editorial was intended to be an uplifting final creative fling before the inevitability of Winter lockdowns kicked in. Revelling in the rich, warm colours of Autumn leaves and the dusky blue of Autumn skies (which typically decided against making an appearance on the day, as Mother Nature was in favour of battleship grey…), the vibe we wanted to create was one of positivity. In part, this means embracing the here and now, which is just what our fantastic models, Jay and Sam, had done in real life! They were brand new newlyweds, having rearranged their marriage plans countless times due to pandemic restrictions, finally having tied the knot in an intimate ceremony just a handful of days before our shoot! Although self-confessed ‘social creatures’ themselves, they stayed positive and were able to see the beauty in celebrating their union with just their very nearest and dearest.Â
The concept developed further into an all-out embracing of Nature thanks to Claire, the owner of Reuthe’s, kindly agreeing to host the shoot at her enchanting venue (of which we explored just a fraction on the day itself). The principal colour palette of burnt orange and mustard yellow led me to channel a hint of the 70s, to which I added gold to provide the luxe edge.
Both Paola and myself were keen to promote sustainable wedding styling throughout, so a crack team of like-minded wedding vendors was assembled to bring this vision to life. The plan was to further emphasise that just because a wedding may be small on numbers, it can still be big on style – AND be eco-conscious, too!

STYLED SHOOT: AUTUMN MICRO WEDDING AT OAKWOOD
This beautiful Autumn is the forth styled workshop to come from My Prettiest Workshops and the creative mind of Planner & Stylist, My Pretties UK.
With this design I wanted to create really cosy but vibrant vibes at this incredible venue in North Yorkshire. The Oakwood at Ryther is a purpose built, luxury barn venue that offers couples luxury accommodation and not one but two beautiful barns to celebrate in. -
STYLED SHOOT: WARM RUSTIC BARN WEDDING
Today I’m sharing a lovely barn wedding styled shoot planned, photographed and sent to GWB by Nicki of FJS Photography.
INSPIRATION AND STORY BEHIND THE SHOOT
This shoot was styled to be the epitome of rustic glamour, with warm tones and beautiful florals complimenting a beautiful rustic barn venue, complete with black cladding and a jetty over a lake. The couple were incredible, and looked sensational in gowns which complimented each other beautifully. The entire shoot was enchanting, with a stunning colour scheme and fantastic hard work by all the suppliers involved.

STYLED SHOOT: FLORAL EXPLOSION
Today we have a very modern styled shoot with some amazing florals photographed by Esme Whiteside.
This is real couple Sam and Adam at countryside wedding venue Bashall Barn in the North West. We wanted something really stylish, but still relaxed and inspiring.
We opted for a more colourful suit for Sam, paired with a floral shirt and something more formal and elegant for Adam, to suit their personalities. -
STYLED SHOOT: SPRING WEDDING AT PANGDEAN BARN
Another gorgeous styled shoot today! This one was photographed by the lovely Katie Rogers at Pangdean Barn in Brighton. The whole shoot is styled beautifully but my favourite are definitely the dresses!
